About us

A long-established family business, based at Parkgate, Dumfries and Galloway. We supply and deliver premium firewood logs all year round within Central Scotland, Southwest Scotland, and Northern England. We excel in the provision of quality seasoned hardwood, split and ready for burning in wood burning stoves, wood burners, open fires, Aga/Rayburn cookers, fire pits, chimeneas and wood-fuelled Biomass boiler systems. All our timber is sourced from within a 50mile radius of our base at Parkgate and absolutely nothing is imported!
At Southwest Firewood we aim to be a high quality, local, sustainable, carbon neutral and reliable supplier of ready to burn wood products all produced by us. We do not aim to produce thousands of tonnes of wood fuel per year but to serve the local area with the highest quality product possible whilst doing our bit for the environment. Supplying firewood logs is our specialty and we always have a large supply of logs in stock at our yard.

Premium Firewood

• All timber cleaned over cleaning screen to remove “chaff”.
• Trained and competent operators to ensure log size quality.
• All wood inspected to ensure correct species and type (hard or softwood).
• Product quality audited by external auditors (Woodsure + BSL).
We can also supply wholesale timber for large orders, please contact the team for a quote. Our logs are 25cm as standard. Should you require any other size requirements please contact us for a quote.

Compliancy

All firewood produced by South West Firewood originates from renewable and sustainable sources as part of local forestry management programmes which provide benefits to both wildlife and the environment. There is BSL, FSC and Woodsure “Ready to burn” certificates on all our products. We are also audited by external independent auditors.

Delivery

We offer free delivery to all customers who live within the DG1, DG2, DG10 & DG11 postcodes. All other DG postcode deliveries will be charged at £5 each. If you reside outside the DG postcode region please call the office or email us to get a price for your address. Alternatively, confirmation of this will be automatically calculated by your postcode during the checkout process in our online shop.
